Fatima Rahu is a textile design graduate from the Indus Valley School of Arts and Architecture (IVS). She has worked for Khaadi, where she was responsible for designing woven outfits for Chapter Two from conceptualization to the final products. She also worked as a freelance artist, for commissioned portraits and abstract paintings. Fatima’s specialization is in weaving. Her passion lies in reimagining the traditional crafts and weaving techniques of the sub-continent along with developing new ideas and designs for the current generation. Rahu hails from the Rahuki village in district Badin, Sindh, and therefore has been exposed to craft-practicing communities since childhood. She holds a sheer admiration for weaving communities; conventional ways of weaving woolen rugs and is passionate about acquiring their skills. Through her work, she hopes to be able to tell a community’s story, Which could reflect celebrating something long forgotten or exploring an idea or theme with them. Fatima is Currently living in Karachi, Pakistan.
