Project Curatorial Advisor (Laajverd)

Fatima Hussain is an independent artist-curator and an academic researcher, with nearly 12 years of experience. She currently works and teaches as an Assistant Professor at the National College of Arts (NCA). She is also a co-investigator in a GCRF-UKRI funded project that is based at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Middlesex University. In Pakistan, she co-directs Laajverd, an interdisciplinary collective that works at the intersection of culture, art, and architecture and Second Practice, which focuses on designing and carrying out collaborative practice-based artistic research. Fatima is interested in transdisciplinary methodologies to think across fields and geographical boundaries. Fatima has presented projects at the 17th Istanbul Biennial, Karachi Biennale 22 & 17, Independent Curators International NY, Flux Deptford X, SAVAC, SPILL Festival (London), Zahoor ul Akhlaq Gallery, Aicon Gallery London, The Guild NY, and the University of Toronto, among others.
